  • My father was in the USMC 1st Div. in the Pacific during WW2. When I was still a young child, we went to Washington one year on a family vacation and one of the things we saw was the USMC memorial. My father walked up to it by himself and just stood there for a long time. When he turned back to us, he had tears running down his face. It was the only time in my life that I ever saw tears in his eyes. I didn't understand then, but I do now. I love you and miss you, Daddy. Semper Fi.

  • @mcintearj : And I am a former Marine Corps staff sergeant who served as a door gunner with HMM-164 during Vietnam. God bless you and ALL Navy Corpsmen for your incredible bravery and outstanding service during hundreds of dangerous missions. There are many, many Marines and their families who owe you and your brothers their lives together. Semper fi.

  • The unelected President, Harry Truman { 1945 }, was surrounded by spies. He was instru-

mental in wrecking the Marine Corps. This hated man loathed the military, because of his failure during WW1. General MacArthur, like General Patton, had no use for this sycophant. Harry was pro-commie. His errand-boy was Harry Hopkins, political bandit, as a go between Red Russia's Joseph Stalin, in order to see where America stood with global financial engineering. Truman-- a mule-skinner--pro-Bolshevik.

  • @71leezippy I do believe that is irrelevant to the point.

  • @palapescada sounds like the movie saving private ryan

  • @atursix God bless you

  • @palapescada God bless you. What a precious memory

  • God bless you, palapescada. Just reading your comment brought tears to my eyes. I was/am a Marine, and the expression we Marines have is that

"Marines don't die, they just go to heaven and regroup", so I know that your Dad is looking down on you from heaven, and thanking you for your comment. I can only imagine what he must have gone through in WW2 in the Pacific. It is men like your Dad, that made this country great. Semper Fi, and OORAH.

  • @atursix There are no former Marines

  • Happy Birthday, Marines!
