Another great day for railfanning and the first video for the month of February. Today is a less cold day with the temperature of only -2 and the will chill making it feel like -5 which is not that cold at all after experiencing the temperatures of up to -30 from a few weeks ago. After tommorow (Sunday), the temperatures will go back to the -20's with the windchill. The weather forecast today called for snow in the afternoon/evening. It ended up snowing on and off for a bit in the afternoon and by the time I was home in the evening, the snow was really coming down. Trevor (ttcsubway209) was also here to railfan with me.

1. CP 441 led by CP 9144 and StL&H 5560 lead a westbound Autorack/mixed freight train from Toronto - Windsor. This train was ordered to make a stop at the 427 for some switching and a pick up of cars.

2. CP #3 141 led by CP 9569 all by itself leads a westbound Autorack/Intermodal train from Montreal to Detroit switching from the north track to the south track to make way for CP 244 stopped at Kipling GO station.

3. CP 244 led by SOO 6035 and CP 9710 in elephant style leads an eastbound short mixed freight train from Chicago to Toronto.

4. CP 255 led by CP 8840 and CP 8853 lead an eastbound Intermodal well car/mixed freight train from Binghamton to Toronto. The DTTX Intermodal well cars are brand new. Thanks goes to Mike (trainboi21) for the heads up.

5. After taking a long time doing switching in Lambton Yard, CP 243 led by SOO 6059, and CITX 3055 in elephant style lead a westbound Autorack train from Toronto to Chicago. It was pretty awesome to see one of the only 5 SOO Line GMD SD60M's; especially one of them leading a train with a CITX leaser behind it trailing elephant style.

6. Just after CP 243 passed by, CP 247 led by CP 8883 and CP 8871 in elephant style lead an eastbound mixed freight/Autorack train from Buffalo to Toronto.

and

7. CP 642-802 led by SOO 6031, CITX 3059, ICE 6452 "Spirit of St. Paul", and NREX 7374 ex MP/GATX lead an eastbound Ethanol to Albany, NY! Another extraordinary and colourful lash-up on CP 642! Thanks goes to Jay (crazeejay2006), and Mike (trainboi21) for the heads up on this one.

We caught a total of 7 trains today, and most of the trains had extraordinary power and a few had some awesome lash-up's including the CP SD9043MAC leading CP 441, the SOO SD60M leading CP 243, and the colourful lash-up on CP 642 and this was definitely a great start of railfanning for the month of February; especially the fact that the Galt sub was busy today when it usually isn't.

Enjoy! :D
