OUT OF HAND

This has gotta be one of the most disturbing movies that I've seen. It ranks well with Michael Haneke's German movie - Funny Games and Takashi Miike's Japanese Horror flick Audition.

Two boys, both passive, both lost, both bored, decided to take their lives on a very different turn. Surprisingly, the movie coyly plays with homoerotcism as a device, but the movie is way way beyond that. It's an amazing character study on the lives of these anti-heroes. Kudos to first time director Eva Urthaler who was able to bring out sensitive portrayals from her cast.

Handsomely filmed... and achingly beautiful.
