Yes, the white leghorns laid one egg a day per chicken. The more variety you feed them the better the eggs will taste. Our chickens were fed a diet of all kinds of vegetable scraps and their favorite food by far was spaghetti! They were really delicious tasting eggs with gorgeous colored yolks.

In order to determine the sex.. you must simply wait about 4 months. If they are male, you will definitely be able to see their physical characteristics & then they'll start to crow around 5 months.

Did you get plenty of eggs from them? I just bought 2 and raising it for eggs as well. I wonder if homegrown eggs' cholesterol is less harmful...o maybe not. ;)

we have some that just hatched in november, how do you tell the sex of them????
