That old recording test of this game was what, 2 Years ago? Man time flies. But anyways, Snagit is really being a douche for me, if I record for longer than around 6 minutes, it'll fail during compression resulting in wasted time. So I had to do this in Camtasia, It's not quite as smooth but the difference isn't too significant and I can record as long as I want.
Anyways, I was one of the people that voted in the unofficial MVC3 DLC polls on the Capcom Unity forums. But the relevance of that is that I voted for Hayato as my #1. He ended up being #27 on the top 50 results so I was fairly satisfied. But anyways, after supporting him so much, I had an itch to play this game for a while now. Combine that with Hayato being the star of my last Mugen Video, and you've got yourself a playthrough. Since the last video was just a recording test, I'll go into more detail about the game this time around.
This game is Star Gladiator 2, otherwise known as Plasma Sword. The 2nd and last game of the series. Star Gladiator 1 was Capcom's first attempt at a 3D Fighting game. This time around the system was abandoned somewhat, but the game still had sidestepping so it was still 3D-ish. But it really plays like a 2D fighter for the most part.
Now to go into more detail about the game, Plasma Sword has a seemingly meaty roster of 24 characters (2 Being Secret Characters). But in actuality, every character in the game with the exception of 2 have a counterpart/clone character with the exact same movelist and specials. The only difference between these characters is in their supers and personality. Along with supers everyone has a "Plasma Field" ability that can be activated at any time at the cost of about 70% of one power stock. The effect is different for each character but essentially what it does is either put one of the better things about your character on steriods or give them an entirely new ability altogether. Do as much damage as you can in this mode for sure.
Now the character: Hayato, the main character in this series and the only character to appear in the VS series (AKA. MVC2).
This guy is fast, strong, has a great super and plasma field and fantastic normals and specials. If this game had a tier list I honestly think he would be top or in that area. There is a lot to talk about but I'm lazy and am gonna stop here. There will be a few more vids of this game so I'll give more info one video at a time. Enjoy the playthrough guys. This should official resurrect my channel since the vacation after MVC3 came out.
