The question itself was structured awkwardly though the correspondent's intent was basically how gabby fits into the whole US Elite team being part of the final Olympic 5. Jordyn and any other athlete would have been taught to be as diplomatic with their answers as possible not to single out anyone in particular but to emphasize group effort and focus on national pride. Jordyn gave the best answer she possibly could without having the media twist her response into something negative.

I agree, they need Nastia or a Bars Specialist to keep up with the Chinese on Bars. However I don't know if McKayla is needed on the team because they can all do Amanars and I don't consider her an all around gymnast. But who knows, she could surprise us like Gabby did!!
