Cold starting my 1985 Yamaha SRX (japanese market)
The SRX has a very effective automatic decompression mechanism making smooth slow kicks possible

  • I weigh about 70 KG and I have to put my whole weight on the kicker to make it go. Yours seems to wind really easyly though.

  • I weigh a little more than you so I guess that could partly explain the relative ease of kick-starting on this video.

  • I thought your engine sounded like a dog until you told hm to shut up!!!!

  • Hahahaha. A few more barks from him and I would "kicked-started" the poor dog instead hahahaha!

  • Nice, but the rainy and cold winters in Holland do ask a lot more of your kickstart skills. Especially with a 600 cc version of the srx, like mine. However, I like the video.

  • Yes an SRX6 would need a harder kick than the one I demonstrated in this SRX4.
