Mikey will be teaching you how to use the program joy to key to make your xbox360 controller be able to control more than the N64 emulator "Project64" allows. Example? Joy To Key will allow your Xbox360 controller to limit / unlimit your FPS, turn full screen on and off, and even open the rom directory, all with the click of a single button. Reason this is the most useful, is because we all know that Xbox360 controllers have more buttons than Nintendo64 controllers did. Unfortunately, I am unable to post the button translations here, however I have a link so you can download it. Just a small little .txt file. If you're uneasy about downloading something you don't know, message me and I'll see if you can PM you the translations. However downloading the .txt is hella easier. This tutorial was previously deleted somehow. And I don't know who did it or how it was done, so I'm uploading it again since it was helping quite a few people. Well, I hope you learned / learn something from this tutorial, as that is what I am to do: provide knowledge, knowledge is power, spread the power. Ok, I'm sounding too much like a hippy now, so I'll just post the link to the translation below.

Sincerely,
-Mikey.

Here is the .txt translation!

  • great video, i have a question, i also use mame32 and psx emulators with my 360 controller, will doing this for project64 affect how my controller works with those other emulators?

  • It may if you're using JoyToKey for mame32 and psx, but if you're not, it shouldn't.

And if you are, just set different configurations for use with different emulators.

Just shut joytokey off if you're not using it with mame32 or psx.

  • How do you hook up the controller if you have a wireless 360 controller?

  • As far as I know, you can't.

However I think there may be an extra cable you'd need to buy. Not sure though.
