This is my wiffle ball field located in Holden, MA. Construction on the field started in 2007 so its been 4 years now and this is what it's become. If you like the field give the video a thumbs up and feel free to ask any questions about it I'll try to respond as soon as possible.

FAQ's::
How We Built the Walls::
Step 1- Dig holes approximately 2-2.5 feet deep and ~8 feet apart
Step 2- place 4x12 beams into the holes and cement them in
step 3- nail 4x8 sheets of plywood to the beams
step 4- use any trees or objects behind the wall to secure it, many of our beams are also supported by 2x12s nailed to trees behind them
For the shorter walls the only difference is the holes only need to be 12-18 inches deep

How much did it cost::
the beams cost about $8-$15 each
plywood sheets cost anywhere from $8-$25 per sheet
the paint costs about $25 per gallon 1 gallon covers about 5 sheets of plywood front and back
cement is about $5 per bag 1 bag will fill 2, 2 foot holes and 4-5 1 foot holes

How we built the backstop::
Dug holes about 18-24 inches deep cemented in 2 inch pvc pipes
then placed 7 foot tall 1.75 inch pvc pipes into that
put a 45 degree joint at the tops of those
and put 3 foot pieces at the top of that
the net was ordered offline to a custom size prices vary for that

Do we have a league::
no, we generally just play pickup games and tournaments

  • i love the field how did you build the wall. what type of wood did u use and how did you reinforce it.

  • @ewwbutloose the wall is 4x8 plywood sheets. theyre held up by 4x12s which are cemented 2 ft into the ground, and also reinforced by the trees behind the wall. The shorter wall is same plywood, but on 4x5s cemented 1 ft down.
