WATCH IN HD.

While I do admit that I'm a pretty casual fan of Rush, I do love this song and really enjoy watching this guy play drums. Neil kicks some serious ass, even at age 50-something when this was recorded. He's definitely one of the best of all time (if not the best).

  • u cant say who the best guitarist is u cant say who the best bassist is but wen it comes to drumming its not even close peart is so seperated than anyone face the facts i can name 20 that are great but peart has drums to the highest level.he also hits them so hard, yet hes so inhumanly percise downshifts rythyms flawlesly

  • @Ignore14 lol, Now that's funny!

  • @drdave313 Ok, I'll give you Dave W.& Benny G., other two I disagree with. I admit though there's some nu-metal drummers that might give Neil a run for his money. Not just speed but also complexity of beats & fills, technique and just plain showmanship. I think Mr. Peart was the main reason I took up percussion and bought a giant kit of my own. Thanks for the reply drdave!

  • @MrMicklethal ...Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, Benny Greb, Dennis Chambers, shall I keep going??

  • Wow! Thanks for posting. Being an XGen I've always loved Peart especially this song.

  • @drdave313 Really? Name one... or two if you're feeling lucky.

  • @thewharfrat1 His drum kit is so advanced legend states that Neil meditates at a secluded mountain retreat and actually is teleported into his drums by means of back-engineered alien technology. (or maybe he just has a trap door)

  • @MusicNexisArchives, ur right, thats awesome.

  • @nogodforjoy if ur refering to me, its all i've got.

  • @nogodforjoy But it's possible not to like your grammar.

  • love the symbol caps and hi-hat, imaginative as there ever was or ever will be,when he hits the hi-hat at 4;40 four times before he rolls is friggin' goose bump stuff man. no one could ever write percussions for rock music like the professor, don't care what genre it is or who people say is better, i think nobody comes close.(although i do like the guy from TOOL). he might be a distant second.

  • best live band ever

  • The Shaolin Priest of drummers...

  • @nogodforjoy That one thumbs down couldn't play this on the drums...

  • .............WOW !

  • If a surgeon would open Neil Peart's head, they would discover 5 brains: his regular brain and one for each of his 4 limbs.

  • @drdave313 <----Says the guy banging on a shoe box in his bedroom.

  • @thewharfrat1 They maybe set up the drum kit around him.

  • @MusicNexusArchives Mine too.

  • I don't honestly give a shit who is "the best." Neil Peart will always be my favorite drummer. There is no one like him.

  • ever wonder how he even gets in that drum kit? no way he can fit through that tiny space between

  • @nogodforjoy it was Neil himself - angry that he missed an eighth note at 4:17

  • @nogodforjoy Called "BRAIN FART"!!!!
