Prehistorik II running on an Amstrad 6128+ (Plus) machine - check out the new DMA sampled sounds on the title screen, and amazing in game graphics and parallax scrolling! Shame more weren't produced like this one...

  • It's running on WinAPE rather than on a real CPC+...

  • Sorry should have put that in the listing. Yea it's WinAPE so far the best for emulating Plus and GX4000 carts. Also the colours arent as strong as you would see on a real CPC

  • Sonic´s palm trees!

  • I'm guessing that you are as old as the ps3 (a couple of years that is), right? Learn to respect those things 'cause if there weren't , you'll still be throwing rocks to your friends and called it "Call Of Duty 4"!!!

  • What was the point in the 6128+? The original 6128 wasn't too bad for its time (although far from perfect) but the 6128+ didn't come close to touching any of the competition when it came out. Bloody Amstrad.

  • @KennyMallory But there is no parallax scrolling in there.

  • Gonna have to check this one out

  • @Xyphoe It means Direct Memory access. Essentially allowing the processor to do less of the work.

  • @dreamcastII It came out in 1993, as for DMA I'm not 100% sure on what it means, but in rather very simple terms 'a better and quicker way of sending stuff to the sound chip' (which remains the same as the normal CPC the chip) - in further simple terms it means nice digitised sounds and instruments like on the title screen here :)

  • @macdeath69 Emulator bug - def doesn't happen on the real thing :)

  • Heh i have this and play it sometimes on my 464 with add on Disk drive and 64k ram pack.

It would be nice to play it on a 6128 plus but it's not really worth buying one for one game.

  • This is really competent indeed. When did this come out ? What does DMA stand for viz. the sounds ?

  • If you not know what you are talking about and if you dont even know the background from first hand, just stop talking silly :-)
