  • I don't think I ever posted a YouTube comment, but I need to for this, because there's two mistakes with the knot in the video.

    1) The first bend the rope should be tied on the edge of the cleat *farthest* from where the load is. This allows more energy to be transferred to the cleat, rather than the rope.

    2) The knot crosses over itself unnecessarily. This is because they make an overhand loop at the end. If she'd just made an underhand loop (a hitch), she could have kept the lines parallel.

  • nice cowtail :) a little whipping would do good on that rope.

  • Why don't you look in the book and compare.

  • Is that what it says in ABoK or is this your varient?
