I used 14 jumbo 1 1/4" rods for this set. The results weren't a huge difference from my results with the smaller size rods, but I was able to do the set with less rods so I'm not complaining.
I am so mad that I slept on these for so long. I've been eyeing them for years but didn't think they would work on my hair. I'm so glad I decided to give them a try.

  • How did you get your hair so straight looking? When I tried my hair still looked wavy.

  • @embracingmycurls75 Girl I had some sections that were still wavy too – especially in the back. But looking at pics I noticed that those sections weren’t completely smoothed out on the rod before I sat under the dryer. So it’s important to keep in mind that, just like with regular rollers, however your hair looks on the rod when it’s wet is how it’ll look when it dries. HTH :)

  • Your hair is very pretty. How many sections did you part your hair for the flexi rods?

  • @ghgurl0805 Thank you! I started with 5 sections (2 in the back, 1 in the crown, and one on each side in the front) and ended up with 14 sections/rods.

  • hi sweets..jus wondering how long u been natural 4? u n ur are soo gorge!!

  • @the1stsweetp Thank you!! I just recently started allowing my mix to sit before using and haven’t noticed any significant difference from when I used to apply it immediately. I think because I leave it on for at least 5 hours it still allows the dye to be released (whether it’s in the bowl or on my head). It did enhance my natural reddish brown highlights. The color doesn’t show well on camera but when I’m near a lamp or outside in sunlight I always get compliments on the color.

  • I watched your henna application video...does the henna have to sit before use? Does it change the color of your hair? which, by the way, is beautiful!!! Be Blessed

  • @jackalo34 Thank you! No I haven't tried a roller at the top of my head (not purposely anyway) but i will definitely give it a try next time. Thanks for the tip. I am definitely for anything that will give the illusion of voluminous hair :)

  • hey TraNaturally!! New subbie and you’re vids are nice to watch. I know you like to make your hair full, so I was wondering if you ever tried doing a roller on the top of your head…it’d def add to the volume!
