well, we thought that this would be the fastest way to remove the upper layers of dirt/clay, and then afterwards to dig the rest with an excavator, so that we could make the bottom of the pond go low enough...

We're using the Scraper to do the upper layers, and let an excavator do the rest, thereby creating a smooth descent to the bottom which is created by the excavator.
