This is my new steed for business other than messy work. I had a 1999 S Type which was good. This car is a 2003 model and it is a world apart from my last S Type. Better quality and better looking too. I would have bought another Range Rover if I could have found a good condition V8 petrol. I struggled to find one so I went back to my favorite brand, Jaguar, this is my eighth. I still have number No2 but its awaiting restoration, one day probably never!

  • Was thinking of getting the same car,now after your bloody review, will have to get one ,cheers ///P/S saw your gsd, used to breed them ,so ya must be a man of taste !!

  • Hi 24327355, Thanks for your comment. You absolutely must go & get one, the post 2002 upgraded version is so much better than the previous model S Type. And, since most people that slag them off have never been in one, driven one or never owned one, opinion is biased against them which is unfair to say the least & unjustified. Mine now has 26,600 miles on the clock & has never missed a beat in the two years I have owned it & I still love it to bits! Regards, DZ.

  • haha bloody pakis hahaha madness !!

  • @DingleZilla will do, she has a fair back hand but i will give it a go. she loves it by the way, looks very posh is her words.

  • Hi brianprime, Are we going to see it then young man? Don't worry about your wife, all you need to do is put your foot down with a firm hand & declare the following; Woman, as man of the house & upholder of the family name & chief decision maker I decide what cars we have, you decide what curtains we have! Its as simple as that young man, tell what you have done & give her a little bit of authority (power!) & control over a decision too! End of today's lesson. Regards, Jon DZ.

  • @DingleZilla hi, me again, now got rid of the lexus ls 400, and have taken in what you said, or truthfully, the guy at work bought one and i was jealous. mines a 3.0 manual, dark green with cream leather. surprisingly good on fuel, and nippy. my wife absolutely hate jags, and when i phoned her from the garage to insure it for me said yuck, thinking it was an xj. soon turned to oooh, very good car. thanks for the advice.

  • Hi brianprime, BSA Bantam! Now theres a bike, worth a few quid these days! I can't say I like Lexus designs. All I can say is that I have had this Jag for 18months without issue. It has 25,500 miles on the clock & never fails! It's looks are different & distinctive. It never fails to provoke comment on YT either for or against (usually by people that have never owned one!) it. It must be one of the most hated & loved cars ever? Only you can decide, because you have to pay for it & live with it!

  • @DingleZilla bit like the old bsa bantom i had, through all its faults i loved that bike, but someone loved it more and pinched it. there is something about a jag, mine cost me a lot, but am looking for a new car as my LS400 is to thirsty, and yet again i am considering jag, not sure yet as a lot of competition, my friend has one of these and must say the video doesn't do it justice, so much more in the flesh. they may have problems from what i am told, but cant take away the looks.

  • Hi brianprime, You can add what want to the discussion. Sounds to me like you have experience of both so are probably better placed to comment. I have had 8 Jags, 2x XJS V12's & various XJ6's & 2 S Types. This one is a 2003 model & is miles better than the 1999 one I had. The previous Jags I had did have issues, however I never got sick of them, bored of their design or driving them. I am Jaguar through & through except for the new XJ, not sure about the back end! Cheers, DZ.
