  • Nice video by the way, i have a small question. in my case (ford probe 2.0) the valve seals are not easily accessible on the head like the one you are working on. so can't use my hand, the socket is a must in my case. which socket should i use? the one that's its circle is bigger than the upper ring on the valve seal?

  • @mbarizia On the valve seal you want to choose a 12 point socket that will push on the lower/fatter bottom part of the valve seal to push it down and seat it. Make sure to be gentle and that the socket is small enough to fit over the top, but can push down on the base of the valve seal securely.

  • I got a problem with my quad, it smokes alot (burned oil) could it be the valve seals or the piston rings? I just changed the piston rings about 2 months ago

  • @eljoelin Maybe your rings didn't seat right. If you get A LOT of smoke when you engine break the motor, then its usually valve seals.

  • Can I use oversize valves with SR20DE(T) ? Can I get any performance?

    Awesome videos, keep posting :)

  • @MrRadjevic You can, but the head would need to be taken to a machine shop and the valve seats would need to be re-bored out and machined to accept the over sized valves

  • @juniorrc2003 Thank you! i have changed them :) also, i would like to add some tip i discovered and i'm sure that i'm not the first one did ! lapping valves with drill and thick rubber washer glued to 12mm bolt which is hold by the drill. worked perfectly and the results were great.

  • @juniorrc2003 damn, it begins smoking about a minute after the cold start, then when the engine is hot enough I ride it and it becomes less smoky, Dont wanna spend another $350 fixing it!

  • @TX97SR20DET Sure do. Click on my user name to see my other video's and then look for the one about changing valve springs, and it talks about installing the springs and retainers.

    Enjoy

  • Good vid. I have an mild PP SR20DE head that I just got back from the machine shop. Did you make and videos of reinstalling the valve, spring, retainer etc?
