The "power bracelets" are real magic in the original old-world sense of the word. That is, it's placebo effect and auto-suggestion snake oil (which works a certain percent of the time). The vast majority of the demonstrations are convincing because the DEMONSTRATOR is a believer and doesn't even know that he's altering the test. It's been proved in double-blind tests that it's the demonstrator (a recent bracelet buyer) that's convinced and passes it on in how he unconsciously biases the tests.
