It's the fact that McCain is behind; not the number of people he's drawing.
The trailing candidate's most logical strategy is to request as many debates as possible. The front runner always wants to limit the number of debates because he has more to lose.
In a Pres campaign, there MUST be debates. The only question is how many and what format.
-
I guess they're coming to an agreement on number of debates and format.
I understand wanting to get away from talking head moderaters, but I don't like the Town Hall format. Too many stupid questions from half-wits.
I'd really like to see the Lincoln-Douglas type debates where they ask each other questions, get answers, ask follow ups, etc. Nobody knows a candidate's weak spots like their opponent and I think we would get some damn tough questions in both directions.

What you will like to do is LOSE.
YAAA WRIGHT YOU KNOW WHAT IS THE RIGHT FOR AMERICAN PEOPLE???!!!!
"this f@#$% can hardly speak. he's practically deceased"
That is the totally true

Wonder if this request just might be due to the fact that Obama draws 1,000's of voters to listen to him versus somewhat less. I'd actually be inclined to stick to the debate schedule and not give the GOP any more of an audience than he can pull on his own. Think there might be anything to the contributing factors behind McCain's request along these lines?

Ethnocentric? Hardly. SJRZ singled out America for criticism. I merely noted she is British and they have been strong critics for a while now. My opinion is our current problems are small compared to say...slavery. You don't seem to be the sensitive type. Why so sensitive here? Who or what are you defending? Are you trying to defend colonialism? You don't like that I referred to the King of England as a foreign tyrant? Or maybe you are trying for humor and I am missing the joke.
-
noble comment. ill informed and naive...but, noble none the less. i especially like the "revolution against a foreign tyrant" it's like you almost got an education somewhere.
ethnocentrism. look it up dummy.
-
He's gonna lose.
You Brits have been saying that for about 232 years now. America been through a lot...revolution against a foreign tyrant, slavery, civil war, depression, civil rights, political assassination, watergate...and every time the United States comes back stronger. Right now things are tough, but I wouldn't count out the Americans.

It doesn't matter who wins the election, the will of the People will continue to be ignored in favor of "special interests" both foreign and domestic. The only difference, will be in how the politics are spun in the media.
