Erm Saikoloji.. It is not that Most Peranakans can't speak malay, The older generations can speak, But we Peranakans speak our version of malay called Baba Malay (bahasa Melayu Baba). We speak differently not like malays do. the younger Generations now are learning Chinese instead of Malay. Thats why Baba Malay is known as a diluted or Dying Language... :(
