can you generate power to charge the batteries without have to recharge for 3 hours to be able to drive all the time

@erlendse The point behind "vector" control, is that the phase current magnitudes and phases of a 3 phase induction motor are mathematically equivalent to the current in the rotor and the current in the stator of a conventional DC motor (this is NOT intuitive, but is correct).
A vector controller measures motor currents, converts to "DC" form in software. The software can then adjust virutal field current for speed, and virtual rotor current for torque. Then translate from "DC" mode to 3 phase

It's really neat.
I have looked into the vector control theory, but I do not quite get it.
Is the field weakening some trick to get more speed for a given input voltage? or am I getting it all wrong?
And the rest about vector control, I don't get it fully.. measure current & voltage, do some "magic", drive the result of the magic back into the motor?

Great stuff! You have to fit it to a motorbike, then you can say "It's not a chopper baby, it's an inverter"
I have also built a 3 phase inverter based on AN908 ported to a dsPIC30f3010. I am interested in what components you have used for your driver stage (particularly the high side). I have used Powerex BG2B kits but the pcb quality is rubbish (unplated vias etc) and I have endured more than a reasonable amount of fault finding just to get them working. Also, what is the brand of your DRO current probe? Thanks.

@tsport100 The IGBT driver you see here is based on IR21084 high/low side FET drivers followed by IXDD414 14A drivers to increase the drive strength. I'm moving away from this on the new version though, the bootstrap supply drops out if you drive to 100% duty cycle. The new inverter will use FOD3180 optoisolated drivers with the same IXDD414s, powered by a custom isolated power supply.
The current probe is an A6303 probe with an AM503 amplifier. Only good to 100A though.

Great job with the project! Looks like you have spent a lot of time on it.
Around 7:30 you show there is wavyness to the current waveform and state that you believe it is dues to the slots of the stator. I believe that it is actually current clamping. Current clamping occurs when the current is around zero and neither of the IGBTs of the phase lag are on (deadtime). Notice that the current deviates from the perfect sinusoid whenever one of the phase currents cross zero current (every 60 deg).

There's definitely some current clamping going on, producing a static distortion in the wave. The dead time is set much higher than needed right now. But there's something else as well, visible while the motor is accelerating at around 7:26. This distortion "moves" along the wave in a way the current clamping distortion can't. Could that be due to the stator slots? If not, maybe it's some instability in one of the control loops.

You can get 3 phase AC out of what now ? 12 volt ? I neeed 3 phase bad man ! and i dont want to pay 200$ for a drive thats just can power up to 1hp. i want one where the in put is 120 volt or 12 24 volt and get 230 and 460 volt ! i need something to run up to 5hp.

@67tr876 A transformer and rotary phase converter would probably be cheapest, but you wouldn't get the variable frequency. Unfortunately there really isn't any super cheap way to get high power 3 phase. Getting it from 12 or 24V would require some sort of step up converter too.
