"He'll do a fuckin' terrific, top-arse job!"

Well technically, the term 'compulsory' is given to our voting system because it is a practice for every Australian citizen over the age of 18 and not given an exemption (only in the rarest of cases), that has to be involved in. What you are referring to is an informal vote, and it is still a form of voting. It would be not participate in this compulsory system. Exercising an informal vote and not voting at all are two very different things, one is legal and the other is illegal.

@rococonroll problem solved :D
-
@adler2adler no objections from me.
-
@rococonroll then it should be called "compulsory turning up and pretending to give a shit about democracy."
-
@bigswano yep it's called compulsory voting. doesn't mean it actually is. people who say "oh god we shouldn't force people to vote because some people are dumbasses" we don't force people to vote, we force them to turn up, to at least pretend that they give a shit about democracy. it really fucking annoys me when idiots think we force people to vote when we don't.
-
@rococonroll that's compulsory voting retard. It's called compulsory voting. That's how it's referred to. When you put a blank piece of paper in it's called voting informal. In voluntary voting, you don't need to even turn up, let alone get your name signed off, let alone put blank piece of paper in. Dumbass

@bigswano you're a fucking idiot if you think voting is compulsory. it's compulsory to walk into a cubile with voting papers. whether or not someone actually writes anything on that is completely up to them
Ah... Australia... land of the bogan. How sad.
