  • @bigpimp1976 To get into the academy, you need a recommendation from either your state Senator, the Vice President, or the President. Once you get that, you need to meet the physical standards (can be found online). If you do get in, it's a regular 4-year college with special military classes. Otherwise, you can attend a 4-year college of your choice and apply of OTS (Officer Training School) after you successfully obtain your BA.

  • @trinityrenee I also heard that you need to be active in your school/community? is that right?

  • @Taima826 Its an academy not basic, basic is if you want to become enlisted, they graduate as officers.

  • Woah woah woah woah. I thought basic training was only 8 weeks not 4 years!

  • All these orders being barked out by higher ranking, and not one "Simon says" was called?? So much for leadership!!

  • hey, Can you still apply for USAFA after HS? Please help me to answer this question...

  • @morganm5201 I wasn't able to get a recommendation from my Congressman. I had hoped to attend the USAF Academy and major in Harmonic Convergence and Astrology. Apparently the Academy does not appreciate students finding oneness with The Universe. Hopefully, I'll find a University that will offer me a Yoga Scholarship.

  • 00:43 his sideburns are out of regs?!

  • @snipingace34 This is true. This is how they decide if you get into USAFA:

    GPA and SAT= 80%

    Sports/Fitness=20%

    Community involvement/clubs/extracurricular=20%

So, you don't technically have to be involved, but it would majorly hurt you if you weren't.

  • @trinityrenee Yeah, I know this is ten months late, but to those of you reading this: You can also receive a recommendation from the representative (House of Representatives) of your district. This is probably your best bet due to the fact that there is less competition.

  • chevrons > brass

  • @soujahwolves But I'm not in a jrotc. I'm in a regular high school. lol sophmore
