  • @MatricksTV If an attacking player initiates any contact with a goalkeeper, other than incidental contact, while the goalkeeper is outside his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed.

A goalkeeper is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease.

  • @MatricksTV Thats called a crease.

As rule 69.4 states: If an attacking player initiates any contact with a goalkeeper, other than incidental contact, while the goalkeeper is outside his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed.

A goalkeeper is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease.

  • Where the goaltender does not make a difference in this case, he's still not fair game to be hit. The reason for the no call is the contact appears to have been initiated by Brodeur.
