SPOILER WARNING!!! If you haven't seen Boiling Rock you might not want to watch this.
I love this song, it's really sad and inspirational. This video mostly focuses on Zuko, Mai, Jet, and Sokka, but it's also a general tribute to the heroes of the Avatar universe. Oh, and I guess Toph is sort of supposed to be singing the verses, which is why her picture's at the beginning. The chorus is being said by various people.
Song: Hero by Superchick/ Superchic[k] (Red Pill Remix)
Show: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Fanart from devaintart.
Explanations:
Verse 1: Zuko. I think this is my favorite part. The chorus refers to his choice to change sides and the people who have tried to help him. You can choose to see the part of him and Katara from CoD as Zutara or not, whichever you want.
Verse 2: Mai and some Ty Lee. The two newest heroes. Lots of Boiling Rock Part 2 in this part, since that is when she gets super-special-awesome. They choose to betray Azula and Mai saves Zuko's Life and now they're on the good side.
Verse 3: Jet. His choices in his first appearance with the Duke as his little brother (because it fits, and the Duke looks like he could be around 9) and then his redemption.
Verse 4: Sokka. This is my first time making a video with rap, so I hope it turned out okay ". Sokka does get made fun of a lot, though he's not emo; that's why I choose him for this part. Oh and he doesn't die, Zuko(who turned hero in the first chorus) saves him. I tried to add some Tokka but it didn't really work.
And remember, you don't need to be a bender or skilled fighter to be a hero.
Lyrics:
No one sits with him, he doesn't fit in
But we feel like we do when we make fun of him
Cause you want to belong do you go along
Cause his pain is the price paid for you to belong
It's not like we hate him or want him to die
But maybe he goes home and thinks suicide
Or he comes back to school with a gun at his side
And kindness from you might have saved his life

Tag:
Heroes are made when you make a choice

Chorus:
You could be a hero
Heroes do what's right
You could be a hero
You might save a life
You could be a hero, You could join the fight
For what's right for what's right for what's right

Verse:
No one talks to her, she feels so alone
Shes in too much pain to survive on her own
The hurt she can't handle overflows to a knife
She writes on her arm, wants to give up her life
Each day she goes on is a day that she is brave,
Fighting the lie that giving up is the way,
Each moment of courage her own life she saves
When she throws the pills out a hero is made

Chorus

Verse:
No one talks to him about how he lives
He thinks that the choices he makes are just his
Doesn't know he's a leader with the way he behaves
And others will follow the choices he's made
He lives on the edge, he's old enough to decide
His brother who wants to be him is just nine
He can do what he wants because it's his right
The choices he makes change a nine year old life

Little Mikey D was in the one class
Who everyday got brutally harassed
This went on for years
Until he decided that never again
Would he shed another tear
So he walked through the door
Grabbed the 44 out of his father's dresser drawer
And said I can't take life no more
And like that life can be lost
But this ain't even about that
All of us just sat back
And watch it happen
Thinkin' it's not our responsibility
To solve a problem that isn't even about me
This is our problem
This is just one of the daily scenarios
Which we choose to close our eyes
Instead of doing the right thing
If we make a choice
And be the voice
For those who won't speak up for themselves
How many lives would be saved, changed, and rearranged
Now it's our time to pick a side
So don't keep walking by
Don't wanna intervene
Cause you just wanna exist and never be seen
So let's wake up
Change the world
Our time is now

Chorus (2x)
I, of course, own none of the material used in this. Duh.

  • Wow, this song fits extremely well with the characters you chose for each verse. Outstanding job for making this vid

  • @ThePlatypusAgent true, but it was a way to get others to stop and try to change someone elses as well as their own life

  • @Wietting1 I accept, but standing up for someone shouldn't be a challenge.

  • This is amazing. Not in marvelous effects or timing, but in the story, and more importantly message this conveys. I can relate to this on so many levels, loneliness, wanting to help, wanting to be a hero for my little brother and sister. I've messed up, I've hurt people and been hurt. But it's not too late, it's time to stand up, live a life of love, for the lonely the broken, the hurting. Thanks for the great amv.

  • Zuko reminds me of me when I was kid

  • here is a short and true story. there was a kid a loner. you know the kid who never says a word unless they have to. well I sat with them one day. started toking to them. they became my best friend
