Falconry is not really a pastime. If you have a normal life I wouldn't recomend it. You can't really go out of town for vacations or even a couple of days. Unless you have local falconers that will take care of your bird. You can't leave them at the local kennel. But if you can commit it's a great experience.

So I am assuming that the Falcon just brings the kite down with it. Has it made any successful live hunts yet.

Actually it picks up the food and brings the food and a little chute with it. The kite keeps flying.
That one did hunt a few pheasants, until my friend, the owner, traded it in to another one.

It is a long training process. You spend months feeding the falcon so it starts to relate you to food. As it grows, you start giving it food from a kite. Then you put the kite higher every day. What the falcon does is go up (up to 1500 feet), grab his food and then it comes down to eat and waits for you. It does not actually lend on your arm, but on the ground. Sometimes you may actually lose a falcon.
