This Rancher wouldn't start because it was not getting feul... The needle was stuck closed, and the bowl was full of crud.

  • @shawneeboy96 Glad you brought that up, an inline filter is an addition on most of my outdoor equipment...

  • i was having carb issue withmy honda rancher and found after 4 cleanings and one rebuild just put a fuel filter in and its been running fine sence then....

  • @moaski If you have a buddy that knows his stuff it's always nice to have that kind of help. However if that buddy isn't available tear into that carb and see what's up. My guess is the needle has some crap growing on it and is stuck. If you take the bowl off you will probably find the problem. The needle probably has rubber on the tip so don't use carb cleaner on that... You might be able to clean it up with some regular gas. What do you have to lose. If you need help, leave another comment...

  • My 2007 Rancher 400 is having carb issues right now. I'm definitely not an expert mechanic, but can generally get by. When I turn the fuel petcock on gas just starts dumping our of the carb into the air cleaner and air box. I'm assuming something is stuck. Would you recommend this project for a novice mechanic or should I try to con one of my buddies into rebuilding it?
