This is a true story that freaked me out a little bit. I used to listen to KYW since the mid 70's. It was October 18, 1982, and the special announcement beep came on and announced the death of bess truman around 2AM in the morning. Immediately after, the car alarm outside went off for a few minutes. That was weird and creeped me out. Thanks for posting!

@AllisonTheSNLGuru Not to be a pain in the ass, but it was true. I told my dad about it and he of course said it was a coincidence, He heard the car alarm but not the radio broadcast.

I interned in an unpaid position for CBS-3 station in 2005 and I tell you what, it was the best summer! It was a great way to finish up college!
