well i guess all artists wanna be recognized for what they do and even if the first thing that you heard about him is a comparison to hendrix you would still see that they're completely different. but no one has to like him, sure more people found out about him cause of that hype but a hype doesn't force anyone to like something it just forces to recognize.

i like him, not cause he's the next hendrix but because he's what i can see there, a guy playing sloppy blues guitar :D

know what you mean but hypes are mostly created by the media, he plays guitar, he's black, hendrix is the first one journalists will mention. i think he didn't even cite hendrix as a big influence. musicians will always be compared to others if you take that serious you'll never be able to enjoy the music.

he seems to know a minor scale and the songs are pretty cool and catchy, sure nothing new but on the other hand it's blues, do you really need huge skills for a good blues tune? :D
