  • I got the idea to make my mortiser from looking at Woodhaven's horizontal router table and mortising attachment, and while it isn't that expensive, it was much more than it cost to make my own. As well making my own was a lot more fun.

The machine in the video is super nice, but it's more for a production shop than a hobbyist.

I plan to make another mortiser, though it will be more of a horizontal boring machine made with a machinist's cross slide table like that on a milling machine.

  • I made a slot mortiser that uses a horizontal router and the table moves side to side to control mortise width and also in and out to control depth. The router is adjustable up or down in relation to the table as well.

I made my machine for less than $40 plus the cost of the router, and it is as accurate as any commercial unit I have used.

Anyone with some imagination and skill could do the same and save some serious money.

  • These machines are the best out there.

  • Where to buy and how much?

  • hey were can you get the mortise machine and tenon machine from?iam from the uk thanks
