    To say it was sloppy is an understatement. There were 36 safety violations which were ignored. I exchanged some emails with the helicopter pilot. He sent me his book, Captain Methane. Wingo seems to paint the TZ set as a haven of safety instead of the den of chaos that it was. He doesn't seem to want to really deal with the truth.

    I now Landis didn't MEAN for it to happen, but he's still ABSOLUTELY responsible. He KNEW he was violating safety codes, but proceeded anyway. His movie was more important than safety, & I can't believe he was exonerated in court. This was dictionary definition "involuntary manslaughter". Chalk up another one for the bad guys, & our (in)justice system. If you have the cash, you can buy almost anything in this country(world).

    The pilot wasn't to blame for this. He was following the orders of Landis and his crew. He was just doing his job and was afraid of getting fired. He seems casual about it, but it happened over 30 years ago. I`m sure he was haunted by it for years but he had to accept it at some point. Landis should have been locked up for this, for putting kids in this kind of danger.
