im currently have a athlon x2 64 2.3 ghz and it runs this slow which is a shame. If i get a phenom x6 the best they have will that fix this issue?

@turtlepug i don't think so, you don't need more 'cores' you need more Mhz , PCSX2 only use 2 cores.

why the need for a computer with a 3.4ghz processor when the ps2's is only about 333mhz?

why you need a pentium 150mhz for running a Super Nes emulator? (cpu of super nes is about 3mhz).

why you need pentium III 800mhz to running ePSXe ( ps1 emulator) when ps1 cpu is about 34mhz ?

because emulators are a SOFTWARE LAYER and the games runs over the software, not directly over the hardware like a real console.

I first started to learn about that stuff when as a child I questioned why my hand was blurry when I waved it in front of my eyes :)

Plus my eyes are a bit shitty so there's that reason too :P

@DoomdCookie The human eye does not perceive above 30fps for a total view of movement but focused on a small point we can easily distinguish details above 30fps.

It's the difference between viewing an object trailing back and forth across a screen and spinning around on a chair.

These are the limitations of the cells in our eye reacting quickly enough to light and our eye will blur the images together.
