@FluffyBoy32 Yes MP4 is far easier to edit with. However, the quality is not quite as good. The problem with AVCHD is its a highly compressed format and editing software hates it. I wouldnt want the pain of having to convert every video every time. I use FCPX and when you record in 1080i mode I end up with a tonne of lines/streaking across my videos. I think the p mode would solve this problem but of course takes up more memory. .Mov is the best format in my case.

So basically MP4 is just stepping down from 60FPS to 30FPS? Got it!
Would this make it easier to edit/render? Would it also diminish the quality at all?
I've noticed this also that when I watch the videos on YouTube, they don't look as good as when I watch them from my hard drive. I now know why...

This video is important especially to new users using XP 64 . Not only are mp4s more readily useable, but they devour much less storage space. And Sony doesn't know how to write manuals OR to write anything for XP 64. I have 7 terabytes and Windows XP 32, XP 64, Vista and Windows 7 here. My choice (by far) is XP 64 using this camera (as suggested in the video) set at mp4 1080. When you first buy the camera, try the mp4 setting, and later you'll know more if you choose to use AVCHD then.

I live in UK and two days ago I bought HX100V, but I got 50FPS, is it bad ? and is it posible to change to 60FPS ? Thank you.

@mjudins - The reason your camera does 50fps is because it shipped outside US. The camera for your region supports PAL video standard, which is 25fps (or double rate for progressive at 50fps). In the States, the standard is NTSC 29.97fps (or double rate 59.94, rounded to 60fps). You can't change the frames per second because it's built into the firmware for your model.

Great videos. I had a question about the tripod you are using. Which would be a suitable tripod for a beginner? I dont want to pay too much for a tripod but it should be stable enough to carry the camera.

Can you change the shutter speed? I want to know if i can use the long exposure technique (shutter speed > 1second).

@roobert505 - Yes, you can change the shutter speed in the Shutter Speed Priority Shooting mode. I'm planning to do a tips and tricks video, when I get the time to do so.
