The document I read on Mozart's requiem series implies Mozart wrote 'em, but it also states the craft is still under debate of who did it. All in all, Mozart did die young.

His later more depressing music was inspired by the loss of his mother. Thats where Lacrimosa comes in. Its too bad Lacrimosa was never finished, it would have been the greatest of all Mozart's songs. =[

His mother died when he was like 22. His A minor sonata, E minor violin sonata were composed during that period.
