Recorded at St Johns Church Darlinghurst NSW on 19th July 1998. The organ is the newly restored 3/34 Hill Organ of 1886. This was the first concert on the restored organ featuring Thomas Heywood. He played again on 25th July 1999. The camera set-up was used to transmit to a large screen to enable the audience to see the keyboards. The sound is direct from the mono Panasonic M3 VHS camera and is not high quality but serves as a good historical record. Recorded by Ian Griggs.
Wow, Thomas Heywood must be really young there! He really mashes it into soup, like a lot of the young organists: "Play it incredibly fast while you still can!" I was talking to Thomas earlier on this year and his wife and console assistant Simone (as seen in this video) said that this video was illegal, or in other words, you (classy8888) didn't get T.H.'s permission to broadcast his performance, slightly scabby really because you were only promoting his talent!
