The Toro mower makes just enough HP to run the generator. Generator is $300 at Harbor Freight. Aluminum sawhorse not sturdy enough for 100# generator.

  • @joesmoe71 yes that's true.... But they warranty everything they sell. As long as it's not burned up from improper hookup or overspeed, they will replace it no hassle.

  • Nearly free energy....

I have the same 10k generator from Harbor Freight hooked up to my 10hp Chinese diesel that I run on 100% veggie oil. It has run great for the 4 years (no smoke whatsoever) I have had it, although I hardley ever used it. It did recently blow a head gasket and I am waiting for one from ebay right now.

I have the 10hp diesel apart and everything internally looks great... just waiting for the new head gasket.

  • Love it! How's that generator motor holding out? Harbor Freight is kind of infamous for the quality of their products being unpredictable.

  • @kdessinger

hay buddy, do u think that its a good buy on that generator head? im interested and im looking for advice. i have a small 4 piston diesel turbo its more thean 20 hp. but plz if u know anny flaws on it plz help.

    thanks

  • you should mount this on the mower and add a 12V hi power inverter then you have a mobile generator.

  • yeah i agree with you that generator must limit 3600 RPM and 240 volts

  • Pretty cool but have you done the math regarding energy in versus out? And more importantly, cost efficiency, which I suspect is appalling.

  • are you serious?

  • I know that gen head too! It was just onsale at Harbor Freight for $189. I wish I jumped on that deal while I had the chance. Now it's going for $299. Oh well!

    Anyway it's rated at 7.2Kw and peaks at 10Kw @ 3600 RPM's. Its brush less and recommends 20HP. It has 2 110V & 1 220V outlets. That's why I want it! :)

    Great video!!

  • I've seen that generator at Harbor Freight before. It recommends a 20 hp engine. I don't know exactly but I think it has to be turned at 1800 rpms.
