Franken Campaign on Coleman Lawsuit To Stop Ballot Counting

Andy Barr of the Al Franken Campaign explains how Senator Norm Coleman's campaign went to court on Saturday to stop the counting of not just 32 absentee ballots in Ramsey County Court, but also ALL ballots in the state of Minnesota. At the time of the suit, Coleman was leading Franken by a little more than 200 votes which will trigger an automatic recount after the state canvassing board meets later this month. The suit was dissmissed.

This is pretty typical behavior by a republican. I would think that by the overwhelming turnout and victories by Democrats that the people have mandated that this kind of behavior is unacceptable. If the situation was reversed I am sure Franken would not have responded like coleman has and accepted the due processs of election law.

The double counting happend during the recount, but the main discrepancy is how each precinct counted and not counted votes, republican precincts followed the rules and strickly enforced weather or not a ballot was valid under the law. Democrat precincts did not follow the law and counted everything wheather they were legal ballots or not, this amounted to over 4000 "disenfranchised" voters that their vote did not count because of where they lived, equal protection problem.
