What must I do to be saved? Some insist that the whole answer is found in Acts 16:30-31 and hence, salvation is by faith alone. However, a fair consideration of the answers given this question on other occasions, will show the fallacy of such reasoning.

  • @jimball009 Don't be absurd! The theif was saved even as the Lord indicated to him on the cross. However, the New Covenant under which God says "I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR INIQUITIES, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE" and under which the apostles preached the gospel, did not come into force until after Jesus' death and ascension. Today, according to the word of Jesus proclaimed by his apostles through the Spirit, only penitent believers who are baptized shall be saved (Acts 2:36-38).

  • Then you're saying Jesus lied when he told the thief "today you will be with me in paradise"
