The Athe Sam Roma Cuulture festival, Gödör Klub, Budapest, June 12, 2009. Young Roma woman dancing, then her friends join in. This is modern Urban Gypsy folklore, based on tradition but very much alive in Budapest today.
@borzo Sounds nice.Actually we Roma dont have original "Gypsy" music. We play and like the traditional music from the countrys where we live just in our language.Look for Demail. Its Romamusic in Balkan style.Ternipe,Amaro drom and others play in hungarian STYLE.I know much Roma from russia or Poland.Probably they chare music with hungarians.
the first melody (till 0:33) in this video is a melody from western ukraine, caraptian region, it has no specific name, it's called just "kolomiyka" and there are 1000x variations of it, also popular in northern romania (bucovina, moldova area called) and called there "hutulca"/hutsulka (from the hutsul people),
just enter this in youtube "Hutulca...cel mai original dans", "Весільна коломийка" and you see other variations from this tune
