I think it would instantly look a lot better if you had the running gait of a speed skater, and maybe even stylise the character more by replacing the feet and extending the legs into points. Also, creating sparks while running fast.
Excellent so-far though, and impressive enough already, well done.

looks like it could get really frustrating... could be cool though, add some decent music tracks or even better ability to play your own

Looks great gameplay wise, I would personally like to see better textures for the ground you're running on as apart from the character its the main thing you see in the game. And the menus looked a bit low res or fuzzy. Might just be me.
Still, amazing gameplay. Really like the freeform aspect of not just being stuck on a rail but free movement along a course.
