  • This is a very excellent video! I am trying to get my 20 pound cat to lose weight.

  • If anyone is having trouble with their cat complaining between meals, what helped me was to make a food distribution/foraging toy (google it.) I put half of my cat's food into it and that way she can be snacking whenever she chooses until her evening meal when she gets the other half.

  • thank you so much for this info!

  • Also want to say - Thanks for all the videos! Appreciate it!

  • Just an FYI, in the "Dr. Becker's Comments" that come with the email, it indicates to multiply the equation you have in the video by 0.8

    "Calorie Calculator for Cat Owners

•Figure your kittys weight in kilograms by dividing his weight in pounds by 2.2.

•Multiply your cats weight in kilograms by 30 and then add 70 to that result:

    •Now multiply that result by 0.8 "

  • i totally agree on that!

cats are not a plague, humans are!

  • Right, because a cat that sprays the house and constantly tries to dash outside to spread his seed is a good pet.

  • If you stop castrating cats they will remain slim.

  • Thanks so much for this vid! I've followed my vets instructions to not leave food laying out, but really didn't know how much to give her. We've been struggling to reduce my 14 pound kitty's body mass for about 2 months now, with out a lot of luck. Turns out I'm still overfeeding her each time.

And months later, she;s STILL upset about not being allowed to graze, and continues to beg for food often, though the frequency with which she nags has certainly slowed down.

  • stop giving the fat cat tax money?? heeey! cue drum fill.
