The AIRPLACO Pro-Cretor shotcrete trailer pump is shown on the job at the Cincinnati zoo. The shotcrete project team was given the task of combining two rhinoceros viewing areas and adding a new pool area for the rhinos using shotcrete. The job involved knocking out an existing wall separating the two areas to make one larger home for the rhinos. The rough end of the walls that were eliminated had to be shaped and then finished using the shotcrete method. The job also involved digging out a new pool/bathing area for the rhinos and building up a ridge around the pool. This ridge (or new lip around the pool) was also was shaped and finished using the shotcrete method. More specifically, the wet-mix shotcrete method was used for the project as opposed to dry-mix shotcrete (AKA gunite).
The crew used the AIRPLACO Pro-Cretor shotcrete pump, 2" hose system and wet-mix shotcrete nozzle (heavy duty). The Pro-Cretor includes a 10 cu ft mixer; however, the crew elected to employ ready-mix services for the job. Kel-Crete shotcrete additive was introduced onsite into the ready-mix truck. The crew completed the shotcrete work in one day using the AIRPLACO Pro-Cretor to apply a continuous spray of shotcrete material. The Pro-Cretor is a 3 inch swing-tube shotcrete trailer pump. Unlike larger concrete pumps and boom pumps with high outputs the Pro-Cretor is designed for specific shotcrete work, such as concrete resurfacing, concrete repairs, low to middle production shotcrete placement, plaster/stucco applications, pool finishes, grouting, and even concrete lifting (slabjacking). The Pro-Cretor features outputs up to 8 cu yards per hour, high pressure outputs of 1,300 PSI, max aggregates of 3/4" minus, dual material cylinders and 46 HP diesel engine.
Options include hopper vibrator, water pump, clean-up hose, operators platform, air compressor (mounted), hydraulic remix agitator, water suction hose, hydraulic outriggers, stroke counter, wireless remote and chemical pump.
