  • Very lively rendition. For once, it does not sound like it is sang by a country bumpkin!

  • The glory of Purcell's music is that it shines through whatever manner or fashion in which it is presented, so I'm not too worried about what any "purists" might think. One of the best versions I saw of Hamlet was filmed in Russia, with English subtitles - superb! Both Purcell and Shakespeare would be delighted to know that their works survived a few centuries after their deaths, and still going strong.

  • "Your hay it's mow'd" is exhilarating even in a straight performance, so this weird and wild version is a lot of fun to listen to (NOT to watch!).

  • a very strange combination of the eurovision song contest, a parody on "monty python and the holy grail" and edmund blackadder in ww1.

god grant purcell shall be avenged upon the producers!

  • "Fuck religion, and leave it OUT of this most glorious of expressions..."

And f**k the repeated and mindless use of obscenities on youTube found in comments left even for things like Christmas carols. Would you curse in front of your mother? Your grandfather? Your teacher? youTube is a COMMUNITY and you and others use swill language like you're the only people using it. Sorry that someone's comment on religion ruined your 'experience" here; garbage language ruins the experience for others too.

  • Rather strange interpretation of 'your hay tis mowed', but apart from being too fast for my liking, I rather enjoyed fairest isle.

  • Fuck religion, and leave it OUT of this most glorious of expressions of Freedom and unadulterated spirit of Thespia!!

Purcell was a creative Genius, Oh, had he lived just 15 more years past his time....

  • weird production..90's swinging Britain?

  • I love Purcell. He expresses the divine soul of his isle.

  • Totally excellent. Not pure, but incredibly welcoming!
