@maverickdallas100 probably, since rüdiger bought this from the boss of the john deere co. and he had a few things altered since this video, mainly a new custom tone ring he had a casting made of in the czech republic, so i shoud make a comparison video of the differences in tone now

@maverickdallas100 The Superstar (built around 1980) looks like a White Star with a dark stained finish that shows the woodgrain quite nicely.

@Pasovineyard I'm familiar with the White Star which is their basic very plain professional model. It's a premium quality instrument in every respect, has the same pot construction as their more expensive models, and that famous Stelling sound with plenty of bark AND bite!

The guys at stelling make GREAT banjos, very clear no matter where you put your right hand - good tonal variety without mudding out closer to the neck.

i agree, abolutely bright and clear sounding beauty. i myself have an ode baldwin from 1980 which is not too bad either. alan munde is rüdigers big hero, so that's one reason he goes for the stelling staghorn sound!
