Escape Festival 2011

Escape Festival of Naukuchiatal, Uttarakhand is an annual festival of Arts and Music. It's a three day escape into nature which is a diverse mix of creative expressions through contemporary music, photography, pottery, painting and other emerging arts. This festival is a platform for amateurs, emerging and established artists to vent their creativity. It's a unique festival with multiple stages, adventure sports, workshops, a festival camp and much more.


The idea of the festival is to break away from the daily monotonous routine into the nature and enjoy art in its various forms. Escape is many diverse artistic experiences rolled into one and behind each is a single thought; to rediscover and celebrate our Oneness through Art. The Escape Festival underlines the thought that "Within all art lies the hidden path to Moksha".
The Escape Festival is also a promotion of the Kumaon Culture and the local economy.


The Festival also has a green initiative which focuses on the following -
• Three year initiative of cleaning and maintaining of the lake
• Planting of trees
• Advocacy on local environmental issues
• Reduction of carbon footprint of the festival, making it a pollution-free zone


Naukuchiatal is located in the central Himalayas (Kumaon). The spring-summer season in this zone is amazingly beautiful. Naukuchiatal itself has a hundred and more charms of its own and also there are many amazing sites nearby. Nainital, the queen of Kumaon is just an hour's drive away and the majestic royal Bengal Tigers of the Corbett are also not too far away.
