Vazha Kalandadze In 1994 graduated from The Komitas Yerevan State Concervatory (Armenia). He took master classes from Alexander Frauchi and Arno Dumaunt. V. kalandadze is The Ivanov-Kramskoy First Guitar Musik Festival (Moscow,1988) and the first and the second Tbilisi International Festivals (1998, 2000) laureat. He is also The All-Soviet Union Guitar Festival in Frunze (now Bishkek, Kirghizia),1989 and The International Festival in Ankara(2000). His repertory includes classial, Latin-American and Spanish music for the guitar. It also includes V. Kalandadze's personal works and arrangements of Georgian folk melodies and songs. He is the author of considerable number of transcriptions for classical guitar including classical compositions.
Now he is a soloist of Georgian State Philharmonic Society (high category). He leads an active pedagogical practice. From 1989 he conducts the class of classical guitar and is the Associated Professor of Tbilisi State Conservatory.
