ematic E8 series SUCKS!!! It doesn't make any sense why it' so difficult to transfer a music folder off your desktop onto the ematic. Why this little disc so archaic and not supply a regular size disc for the d: drive? Then this little itty bitty disc has files on it that don't explain nothing. This thing is a rip off!!! I wanted to drop it under my trunk and roll over it but some asshole wants to give it a try before he gets his headache.

I use AVC to convert videos to this device and have found that Xvid codec is the one that actually works. Mobile MPEG 4 with the Xvid codec and 320x240 seems to work best. Its not the best screen to watch videos on but sometimes I just like watching random videos and this device makes it kinda easy once you get the hang of it and convert them right. I don't like the software that comes with it.

I don't like that it won't just repeat one artist or folder. Well at least I cant get it to... Every time I turn off the device it doesn't save my EQ settings! File transfers are SLOW! I would maybe recommend formatting the built memory and setting a higher allocation size or "CACHE". I had to do that on the micro SD that I put into the device and seems too work better. I actually like the slide out USB I wanted and have had no problems with it, though I think it could slide out easier.

@susansnapp well first you have to turn on the mp3 player plug it in and the screen with a computer and usb looking cord will pop up & wait 15 seconds.then push the middle button 1 time and then a battery will pop up. the mp3 player will say charging..thats how you charge it but if nothing happens,,try to reset by sticking something in the reset hole at the top of the mp3 player..And if nothing happens then i would probably return it and say you having problems charging it!!
