Bomba

Bomba is a type of Music and dance native to Puerto Rico. A friend of mine was creating a documentary about it and asked for my help with the titles. In return she let me have a play around with some of her footage.The dancer herslef actually controls the musicians (rather than the other way round) through her movement, particularly of the skirt. I wanted to highlight this by making her the centre of attention. The drummers were cut out frame by frame.
