This is a run up Wetherill Canyon in Lake Powell, Utah on a Jet Ski PWC driven by Jon Ham and Cari Ham is on the back in July 2010. The Canyon starts out quite wide and gets more and more narrow until we must stop and turn around.
This is from our latest vacation through the southwest and we absolutely love Lake Powell. The water level when this video was shot (July 2010) is historically high for Lake Powell due to high amounts of snow in the Colorado Mountains which feeds the Colorado River. This makes the Lake views even more spectacualar.

  • ive been all over that are and utah for that matter, but never on lake powell, how cool that looks, did you rent the jet skis?? were you on a house boat? if so how pricey, were going to be in utah again next sept in the cedar mesa area and were think about some time on lake powell but dont want to go broke there, we travel light and usually keep moving,so if its pricey we would proly just go north to moab after our backpacking trip

  • @guitargreg72 we were with some friends who had a jet ski and yes, we were on a houseboat and it is fairly pricey. I would also argue that it is the only way to really see lake powell. It is such a large lake that you really should take your time to explore all the nooks and crannies.

  • What If it breaks?you swim back?how cold is the water?how many miles did you cover here?

  • @relikvija yeah, if it broke we would be totally skrewwwed! The water is very warm, like 80 degrees F... It was probably 3 miles to the end, and 3 miles back from where we were. The jet ski did break down at the end of the trip... check out my playlist from Lake Powell... very cool. We had a great time!

  • @fitnesstrainingbyjon What camera did you use to film this?

  • @TranceScotland It was a sony HDR-UX20 using the underwater case - Sony SPK-HCC. Here's a quick review i made with the case and camera - watch?v=OaEIQAqs4Ec

I'll post it as a video response too...

  • I have that jet ski. We go every year houseboating on lake mohave. Very fun time.

  • @fitnesstrainingbyjon I use to go in the 70's all the time. We camped in our motorhome and campers right on the beach, straight south of Lone Rock. It's a massive lake and there's nothing else like it !

  • That is awesome!!!!

  • Absolutely beautiful!!!
