"Shin-On" ("Heartbeat")

Exuberant, boisterous, and unbelievably energetic, the male and female drummers of Yamato draw upon unbridled enthusiasm and superhuman feats of coordination, acrobatics, and humor to communicate the ancestral belief that the drumbeat, like the heartbeat, is the very pulse of life. With a massive Taiko drum made from a 400-year-old tree as its centerpiece, Shin-On ("Heartbeat") blends thunderous rhythms with Japanese music of delicate beauty, celebrating Japan's rich cultural traditions.
