I this take a lot more. i think this is my first time hearing it. I am still amazed after 5 years if having this song jsut how low J. S. Sumners voice could get. Here it's as low as the lowest note on a piano. WOW!! Elvis had so much vocal talent it's a shame that he died so young. Who knows how things might have went for him and us as fans had he lived and not got in to drugs. May be some day we will know what might have been. Thank you for posting this take.

i like and love this version of elvis singing way down shame he passed away all of a sudden in august 1977 his musis would still be good today from lisa x so many versions and out takes are slowly coming out the closet as the saying goes .

I love this song. I heard one version where he was messing around with the bass singer and trying to sing the bass part at the end of the song, he finally hit one of those breathy notes at the end, and let the bass singer do the final "Way on Down". I have been trying to find that version of the song for years. It must be a very rare studio recording.

In my opinio, Elvis sounded his best from 1971-1975....then the decline....medication...consti
tuents who didn't care about him...thinking of themselves....sad, sad...saw him in 1976....great concert, but nothing like Elvis On Tour or Aloha from Hawaii or better yet the1974 concert at the Mid South Colliseum in Memphis Tn....that was his best concert...ever -
whats such a shame about elvis is . if he had listened to people trying to help him and show him that what he was doing was wrong. he would not have looked like he did in his last few years alive. he could have still sounded like he did when he was in his early 20s i recon.
This is such a totally magnificent, fun, unique, groovy and electrifying song. Elvis will definitely always be the one and only King of music and entertainment. Elvis will definitely also always have the greatest voice and the greatest fans. Elvis is totally irreplaceable and truly a one of a kind. This video was absolutely spectacular in every way, 10 Stars.
